Kim Chizevsky nace el 23 de abril de 1968 en la ciudad de Matton, estado de Illinois, Estados Unidos y se crió en Ducator.
En la escuela secundaria participó en varios deportes como voley, basket y disciplinas de atletismo, tambien fue porrista.
Asistió a la Southern Illinois University en donde estudió para ser asistente legal participando en actividades deportivas en dicha universidad y se unió a un grupo de danzas universitario. Después de un par de años en la danza y el aerobic una amiga la incentivó para que empezara a practicar culturismo.
A pesar de no estar bien entrenada, preparada y no seguir una dieta termino segunda un un campeonato a nivel estatal de culturismo que fue el NPC Tri-State compitiendo con 55 kilos.
Obtiene su carnet de profesional en 1992 al ganar el IFBB North American Championship compitiendo con 67 kilos. Obtuvo un éxito moderado en sus primeros años de cometidora, incluyendo el primer puesto en el Ms. International en 1993, su ideal era ganar el Miss Olympia así fue que en 1996 logra derriba a la actual Miss Olympia, Lenda Murray, comenzando un reinado que le duraría cuatro años.
En 1997 gana el Miss Olympia con un peso de competición de 71 kilos y se retira luego de su ultimo triunfo en este torneo en 1999 criticada por no verse femenina.
En el 2000 aparece en la pelicula "La Celula" protagonizada por Jennifer Lopez, un papel corto que dura minutos.
En el 2001 decide perder masa muscular para incursionar en el fitness con un éxito limitado.
Esta casada con Chad Nicholls, un especialista en nutrición de culturismo y consultor de formación. viven en Springfield, Missouri, con dos hijos.
En 2008 fué introducida en el Salón de la Fama de la IFBB.
